The Who/What/Why
While serving as a freelance copywriter for BooneOakley in Charlotte I had the opportunity to assist on the team that was creating the new campaign for the PGA’s Wells Fargo Tournament. The strategy behind this direction was that most people thought of golf as an arrogant event for old folks. We turned that view around by positioning the Wells Fargo Championship as “The most prestigious place to have fun.” Encouraging our targeted audience to drop their previous views of golf and the tournament and come into the event to just have a good time with friends and family.
